State Meeting 6/5/21

Teams are able to add members to roster till July 31 for State Team purposes.

Scholarships – had 8 applicants. Motion was made to give 5 – $500 scholarships in addition to the 3-$1000 already approved (Lost Creek / Mexico) approved unanimously. Recipients are (done by a blind draw): $1000 – Sam Engelmeyer, Abigail Gillium, Katelyn Daniels. $500 – Ashley Johnston, Hayes Edwards, Blake Phelps, Allison Thompson, Sefina Urtz

Will set up a page on the MOBASS website to sell advertisements for the Scholarship fund. Only credit card size ads for $50 will be sold.

James Zieger Jr voted in as Conservation Director.

Marketplace website – will be set up on Facebook. President will send out when ready.

President will get bulk pricing on weigh bags with mesh bags that clubs can also purchase. Will have the MOBASS logo.

Sunglasses – have approx. 300 pairs to sell still.

Wholesale Battery is a State sponsor. Location in St Louis, KC and LOZ. Will deliver batteries to anyone purchasing.

Lews (National sponsor) gave us 10 – $200 gift cards which will be used to purchase reels for State.

State entry forms will be on the website to download. Do not send by email to Kathy.

No alternate will be taken from other clubs until day of tournament to fill club rosters. Basically, clubs are responsible for providing their own alternate, or they may have to drop 2 members if issues arise.

Voted to buy new computer and program for running tournaments.

Voted to give the Youth program $2000 from the general fund for 2022.

Investigating having State meeting (with cookout) at Extreme Sports in Branson West. Also investigating having a tent erected at Port of Kimberling if Extreme falls thru.

State Meeting 4/10/21

Currently 436 members in the Federation. Can add new members until the June board meeting so they are eligible to fish the State tournament.

Sunglasses – have approx. 365 pair left to sell ($15) or give away as attendance prizes.

New MOBASS State sponsor – Discount Battery 20%

Working on getting BoatEFX as a State sponsor.

Alliance boat bought by Jay Beffa – State will get $3000 for the general account

Report any leads to President for someone buying a new Nitro / Triton or Ranger. Will need to have a BASS number. Had been discussed in the passed that the State would pay for the BASS membership to get the Alliance money.

Contact website administrator about adding a Marketplace page so members could advertise items related to Bass fishing to sale.

Two proposals were voted on:

  1. Motion made to fish with own club member at the State tournament – motion failed 18 / 9.
  2. Motion made so that any fish caught at the State tourmament and meets the lake limit will count as part of limit – motion passed 19 / 8. For spotted / Kentucky bass, the determing factor will be where the jawline falls. A Meanmouth is not considered a Kentucky and must be the lake limit for Smallmouth.

State tournament is Oct 15 – 17 on Table Rock Lake. Disccusion still be held about where to launch, but most likely will be Port of Kimberling. More info at June meeting

Motion made to make Jim Zeiger Jr the Conservation Director for the rest of the term as Robert has moved to Oklahoma.

Officer nominations for 2022-23 will be in June.

Eldon Bass Club will have their annual Youth tournnament on June 19th.

State Meeting 9/12/20

Voted to give Kayak club $15 per member to help out with first year expenses ($675 total). Their Championship will be Oct 16 / 17.

Voted to buy $500 in TH Marine product (culling clips, G Juice, Cable Wraps, Trolling motor handles) vice Solar Bat since we have a couple of hundred pairs of glasses still.

Asking website admin to add a marketplace so members can post fishing related items for sale.

Flyers handed out for Jr tournament on Sept 20. on Pomme.

State Tournament for 2021 will be on Table Rock, POK, Oct 15 – 17.

State Tournament Info

Only the Team captain plus one will attend the meeting at Warsaw Community Center at 5pm.

Each boater / non boaters will have 2 – 3 X 5 index cards for each day that will be filled out with your Name, phone number, Club, Lodging site. Cards for day 1 will be white, day 2 any color but white. These will be turned in at the Thursday Captains meeting (5-7pm at Sterett Creek). Captain will retrieve the pairings of the cards at the Friday meeting and hand out to their State team members. Non boaters are responsible for calling their boaters by 7pm on Friday.

Tournament rules are available on line at MOBASS. Ignorance of the rules is no excuse. Any questions wil be handled prior to take off on Saturday.

Team Captain will get tickets for door prizes. They will be given out after the day 1 weigh in.

Be in the water by 645 – Ramp tags are $10 for 2 days, available at the Thursday meeting (not required if staying at Sterett Creek). Boat # floaties will be available on the dock.

Day 1 Take off / weighin times are: 7-3 / 715 – 330 / 730 – 4

Day 2 Take off / weigh in times are: 7 – 2 / 715 – 230 / 730 – 3

Mask / Gaiter required at weigh in. In the boat is up to the boater.

Non piercing culling tags only / Nets allowed

Boater – 5 fish / Non boater – 3 fish

State Meeting 6/6/20

Membership is currently at 517

Sam got one of the 3 scholarships ($1000) given out. There was 5 qualified applicants.

Can add members to qualify for State Championship until July 31.

Required to attend 2 of 3 meeting for club to qualify for State.

Approx. 300 pairs of Solar Bats left (basically ones returned by JP / NYFA).

Send pictures to State and National sponsors when catching any fish on their lures.

Regional Championship on Toledo Bend week before State.

Youth Championship same week as Regional, can send 2 HS teams and 2 Youth teams. Will have 1 qualifying tournament. Graduating SR’s can qualify.

Triton / Nitro boat package still available.

If you know anyone buying a new Triton / Nitro, let President know. 1-5 leads MOBASS gets $1000.

Money to be spent on prizes for State tournament – Lowrance $2500, Mercury / Motorguide $2500, Solar Bat $500.
